Fasting and Walking

with 4 comments

Today was another day of light activity. I only got two walking breaks in today. I got tied up in a meeting this afternoon and I was cranking through writing a Unix shell script. That got me distracted from my normal breaks. I ate healthy snacks: Trail mix, nuts, an orange. I ate oatmeal for breakfast. Drank my coffee black. Had chicken, rice, apples and broccoli for lunch. Drank lost of H2O.

Tonight the family had fetuccini alfredo, french bread, and broccoli but I decided to start another Eat Stop Eat 24 hour fast. I intended to start my fast last night, but I watched the season opener of No Reservations and seeing all that food weakened my resolve. I caved and ate dinner. It was late, past 2230, but healthy stewed chicken breasts and apples, with rice and okra & tomatoes. I was tempted to eat again tonight, but I know marinara sauce is a better choice than Alfredo sauce. Also, there was lemon meringue pie for dessert! What are they trying to do to me!

I watched The Biggest Loser season opener. This season has the heaviest group of contestants ever. That cured me of food cravings for a while. But just in case, I had my daughter put away the leftovers before I washed the dishes. Remove the temptation! Now I’m drinking more water. I’m about to go take a shower and go to bed and that will remove me from temptation for a few hours, too.

  1. Glad you resisted. I took the box of Krispy Kremes I got CB upstairs and left them in the kitchen for anyone in the house who wanted them. That is better than me eating a whole box LOL

    • @Ellie Good job on the doughnuts! Keep on walking! I’ve got a book called Walk Yourself Thin. Not sure it’s in print any more but it is great.

  2. I strapped my priority mail packages to my back (with the help of a duffle) and walked 1 mile home (mostly uphill) Monday. I also walked about 1 mile to the doctor, and I have been running subway stairs! One of the things I plan on doing tomorrow if it isn’t too icy is to listen to my Debbie Rocker walking cd on my ipod. It is 45 minutes and a great walk-out. I will upload for you later.
